How I made Over $100,000 Using Adult Dating Affiliate Programs

Over the past several years, I have met a lot of people who are looking for quick and easy ways to make some money on the side and a lot of them turn to affiliate revenue in order to do so. Now, I can tell you one thing about making money with affiliate programs, and that is that it isn’t “quick” and it certainly isn’t “easy” but there are ways to do it if you are willing to put in the time and effort to make it work. This is my story about how I made it work and the steps that I took in order to do so…

Part 0: Background

It was somewhere around 2012 when I first learned about affiliate programs and how much of a revenue stream they could be. I was working for an internet hosting company and one of our clients had a business where he was hosting 500 “weight loss pill” websites. At first I thought it was a bit corny, but after talking to the client I realized he was making $25,000 a month off of these programs, and everything was hosted on a single $90/month server. He was practically printing money! I wanted in on this idea, so I decided that I was going to try something similar.

When it comes to success in such a program, it all comes down to three things:

  1. Content — You need to have a website or some content that will interest users and bring them in. You also need catchy website names that people will want to visit.
  2. Volume — 20 hits a day isn’t enough. In my case, I am running 100 websites and I purchase new domains almost weekly. Remember what I said above…$25,000 a DAY, using 500 sites!
  3. A good affiliate program — This one is the kicker and here is why. When it comes to affiliate programs, you are the lead generator. The affiliate has to have a good product to make the sale and keep the client. If your affiliate program can’t make the sale or if it’s not the right program for you then it won’t work.

Part 1: Content

Figuring out the content you want to have is very important and, honestly, pretty difficult. Thankfully, most of this step can be figured out early on, but you really need to sit down and think and focus on what you’re trying to do. There are a million options out there, so you need to find the one that works for you, but all in all it starts with the following question:

“What am I really really good at?”

It’s an odd question to ask, but it can help you decide how you’re going to proceed. Are you a good blogger? Are you really good at social media? Are you like me…really good at automating things?

Knowing the answer to this helps you out with how to figure out parts 2 and 3. In my case, I realized I was good at replicating content across multiple mediums, so I could do the work once, and have it appear on 50 or 100 different sites.

Once I had decided and figured out what my strength was and which direction I wanted to take it, I sat down to think about question #2:

“What do I want to market/sell?”

There are a million options here. Did I want to do weight loss pills? Did I want to promote Ebay auctions or Amazon reviews? Did I want to help people find someone to talk dirty to? — I chose the last option for the most practical of reasons:

“No matter what happens, *everyone* eventually looks for love, a friend, or a fantasy to live out”

This meant that, unlike all the other things being marketed, there are potentially 8 billion people looking for love, sex, a partner, a friend, or something sexual…this was good enough for me!

Now you have to create some content! This is the part that I cannot help you with because only you know what you’re good at, so I can only tell you what I did. I started looking for domain names that people would type in. In order to not promote my sites here, I will give example phrases that can be turned into domains:

  • findlonelywomen
  • sexywomenintexas
  • lonelymeninflorda

You probably get the point here — You can actually get A LOT of traffic on sites like these because they resemble phrases that people would google. It works..believe me (I have ZERO SEO skills, and 90% of my traffic is organic, meaning people entering my domains directly)

When it comes to domains, they are cheap…buy a bunch, test them a year and release them if they don’t do what you need them to de. There will be more of an explanation in the next part.

Part 2: Volume

So now, you’ve pretty much decided what you want to create a market for, and you have also decided what you’re pretty good at. Now you have to actually grow it and build it. In my case, like I said, I went with the following idea:

“Take a bunch of domains that people would possibly Google and point them all to a single web page”

To me, this was a brilliant idea. If I want to add 20 more sites today, it would take me all of 20 minutes to do it! If one of those domains brings 1000 visits a month (or a day) it could mean lots of sales, and it only takes one sale to pay the domain off for 5 years if you use the right affiliate program.

If you go the route of blogging and social media, you have to make sure to keep adding content. If you’re in adult dating, maybe you could make a blog about the do’s and don’ts of online dating, or you can document your experiences with it.

If you are an automator you can create tube sites or aggregators where you collect content from other sources and combine it into one easy-to-use place. If you do this, however, make sure not to plagiarize or steal content. People wort hard to get good content.

Part 3: The Right Affiliate Program

I mentioned it above and I will reiterate it one more time. If you do not get the right program, then you won’t make money.

Imagine this scenario — you are looking to buy a small family car and you see an ad for small family cars online, so you go to the dealership. When you get there, all they have is Ferrari’s.

Are you going to just say “hey sure I’ll just get a Ferrari instead?” No, you’re going to leave. This is what the wrong affiliate program will do to you. You will sent it a bunch of traffic and it will fail to make a sale.

Disclaimer: I am going to talk about the affiliate program that worked for me and why it did, but I am not going to throw in a bunch of stuff from their website to entice people. I will include a referral link at the end for those interested.

As I started my site, I thought about the idea of putting links up for 4–5 different programs and just seeing which ones do best. I tried sites like AFF, DateProfits, DatingGold and a few others, and while I was sending them up to 100–200 leads a day (that means 100–200 people were clicking off my site into their platforms) I would maybe get a sale a week.

Now, this was so early on that I was happy to get a sale a week. That meant I was making $100–200 a month off of a site I don’t really need to maintain. It was OK, but I wanted to make it work better.

This is when I found CrakRevenue

When you go to their website, the first thing you see is:

“The Most Efficient CPA Network”

This, in my case, was not only true but it was completely life-changing for my project. I started noticing the numbers pretty quickly. CrakRevenue was getting 20% of my traffic, and was making 95% of my sales. The next steps were no-brainers:

  • I started sending 50% to CrakRevenue and my sales went up more…
  • I started sending 100% to CrakRevenue and my sales went up even more…
  • A few later, as I write this, I am their 66th biggest affiliate…all off of a website that I haven’t really worked on in over a year.

So if you’re still reading this, you’re probably wondering why that happened, right? I was hosting adult dating sites, and I was using adult dating affiliates. One would expect decent sales regardless of platform, so what was it? What sets one affiliate apart from the 4–5 competitors?

Does CrakRevenue offer better programs and payouts? Well…yes, but this was not what was happening. I mentioned above that I was making 95% of my sales on CrakRevenue. That simply means the other products weren’t selling at all. Who cares if they payout is $10 or $10,000 per sale if you’re making ZERO sales, right? Granted, they did have the SmartLink, which is a special link you can use that pretty much takes care of all of the optimizations for you (geographically and also based on whatever programs offered the best earnings) and I think this probably contributed to a lot more sales.

It was the product…CrakRevenue had enough content providers and enough products that so many of my users were finding what they were needing.

Are you looking for a site where you can meet local women with the same fetish? They had it…

Are you looking to video chat with people because of COVID and being stuck at home? They had it…

This was the important missing piece that set one affiliate program apart from all the others, because let’s be honest, most of the affiliate programs out there will offer similar payouts, similar payout options and such, but not all of them will provide the right content. The right content, however, is what you need, and in my case, CrakRevenue provided just that. They even took it one step further.

Also, if you can, find a contact at the affiliate company. For me, CrakRevenue were the only company who gave me a dedicated person to talk to, Raphaël S. Morency Trudel, and he contacts me about once a week to help me with the program and to make sure I am making even more money. Honestly, he has been a huge help because he knows things that I do not and he will work with his affiliates and give them good direction.

Final Thoughts

I hope that the processes that I went through and have outlined above does something to help you on your path of figuring out your own way in the path of affiliate marketing. As final thoughts, I just wanted to mention that you need to have patience, and you need to remain calm and stick to it. Some days and weeks will be slow. I’ve seen revenue drop 40–50–90% in a month, and then I’ve seen it shoot back up 300% the next month. Sometimes, you are at the mercy of the internet gods. As long as you have the following, things have the potential to improve over time:

  • A good platform that suites your skills and abilities
  • A good amount of quality content
  • A good product to sell
